The Valparaiso women’s tennis team played Horizon League leader Cleveland State on Saturday morning. The match, which was the final regular season match for both teams, carried plenty of significance for the final league standings, as Cleveland State needed to win in order clinch the regular season title. The Crusaders looked to play spoiler, but the Vikings were able to prevail with a 7-0 win, ending Valparaiso’s season.

Milwaukee's Justin Langley struck out twelve Crusaders over seven innings Saturday at Henry Aaron Field as the Panthers claimed the series with a 5-0 victory. Valpo dropped to 1-7 in series finales as the Brown and Gold were held scoreless for the second straight game.

The Valparaiso men’s golf team saw its opening round at the Wolfpack Spring Open in Raleigh, N.C. washed out on Saturday due to persistent rains in the Raleigh area. The Crusaders will tee it up on Sunday, as the event has been shortened to 18 holes.

Leading by just one run heading into the bottom of the sixth inning, the Valparaiso softball team batted around the order, sending 10 batters to the plate and scoring seven runs to finish off a 11-3, six-inning victory in Horizon League play over Oakland Friday afternoon at the Valparaiso University Softball Field.
