What will surely be the longest start-to-finish game in Valparaiso softball history is set for an April 30 conclusion, as Valpo and Indiana have agreed to resume their suspended March 1 game in Bloomington on the final day of the month, nearly two months later. The Crusaders and Hoosiers will then play a full second game following the conclusion of the suspended game.

The Valparaiso softball team closes out its 19-day, 14-game homestand on Easter weekend as the Crusaders welcome Horizon League newcomer Oakland to town for a three-game series. Valpo will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday in between games, honoring the six members of this year’s senior class.

Valpo's 4th annual St. Baldrick's fundraiser accumulated over $41,000 to fund research for cures for childhood cancers, a new university record. 80 heads were shaved in a half-hour, with over 100 heads shaved in total. The event was especially important to women's soccer player Jordyn Ryfiak. Click the video to find out why.

Valparaiso University awarded 132 student-athletes with Presidential Academic Honors while also handing out the Laurel Award at the 21st Annual Student-Athletes Academic Honors Banquet held on Sunday evening in the Christopher Center.

The last time a Horizon League team won a game at Henry Aaron Field in Milwaukee, Kevin Wild was on the mound, Steven Scoby was patrolling right field, and Tracy Woodson was in the dugout. Since April 29th, 2012, the Panthers have won twelve straight at home against HL opponents. The Crusaders look to snap that streak in the first of a three-game set Thursday afternoon at 3:00 pm CT.

As part of Valparaiso University’s “Proud to Be Valpo” Day of Giving last week, the athletics department held the first-ever Athletics Alumni Challenge, and the response was tremendous, as 325 former Valpo student-athletes donated upwards of $41,000 to the athletics department. The football and men’s tennis programs each won a $5,000 challenge grant, boasting the greatest number of alumni to make a gift and the highest percentage of alumni to make a gift, respectively.
