Dan Bogar

"Dan Bogar and Mike Healey established themselves as one of the top receiving tandems in the nation during the 1980s. Bogar, an Associated Press All-American in 1983 & 1984, and Healey, a Kodak (American Football Coaches Association) All-American in 1985, each led the nation (Division II) in receptions in successive seasons.

In 1984, Bogar made a national-best 73 receptions (861 yards), while Healey topped the country with 101 catches (1,279 yards) in 1985. Bogar and Healey share the top echelon of several Valpo records. Each player made a school-record 26 touchdown receptions and each share Valpo's single-season touchdown reception mark of 11 (with Rob Giancola, 2002).

A two-time First Team All-Heartland Conference performer, Bogar graduated as the conference's all-time leader in receptions (143), receiving yards (2,018) and touchdown receptions (18). He finished his career with 204 catches and 2,816 receiving yards, both second in Valpo history. In 1983, he finished second in the nation in receptions (68) and in 1982, his 48 catches were the 21st most in the nation. Bogar also earned First Team Academic All-Heartland as a junior and senior.

A 1985 Valpo graduate, Bogar lives in Geneva, Illinois and has been a regional sales director for Group 1 Software since 1990.

Healey, a First Team All-Heartland Conference selection in 1985, is Valpo's all-time leader in receptions (228) and receiving yards (3,212). His national leadership in receptions helped him earn Heartland Conference MVP and Most Valuable Offensive Back honors in 1985. Healey finished 15th nationally in scoring (68 points) that season. Also a four-year letterwinner in baseball, Healey holds Valpo's single-season record for stolen bases (37 in 1985) and ranks among the school's top 10 in runs (129), hits (175), doubles (33) and at bats (560).

Healey graduated from Valpo in 1986 and has been a director of the Illinois Automobile Dealers Association in Springfield, Illinois for the last 14 years.
