Collette Liss

Clearly the most dominant women's distance runner in Valpo history, Collette holds numerous school and Mid-Continent Conference records in cross country and track. Liss has taken her immense talents to the professional level where she continues to excel.

A four-time All-American, Collette was selected as the Mid-Con Athlete of the Year for all sports in 1999. A two-year captain in both cross country and track, Collette owns every Valpo record from the 800 meters to the 10,000 meters. Liss performed at a high level athletically and academically while raising her young son.

She now competes professionally under the sponsorship of Nike. A seven-time USA World Championships Team member, Liss finished 7th in the 1500 meters and 12th in the 5000 meters at the 2000 Olympic Trials. Collette also captained the 2003 World Cross Country Team and was a member of the 2002 World Cup Team, competing in the 5000 meters.

Liss graduated from Valpo in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science.
