Joe Sever

"One of the top football players of his era at Valparaiso, Joe Sever was the ultimate two-way player.

An offensive guard and linebacker, he rarely missed a play throughout his career. A Little All-America selection as a senior, he also earned All-Indiana Collegiate Conference honors while playing for the Crusaders. He made his presence known from the moment he arrived on campus, being named the Outstanding Freshman Lineman his rookie season.

Known as the “Iron Man" after playing several games on a broken ankle, Sever was named to Valpo's All-Time Team in college football's centennial season.
