David Macchi

One of Valpo’s most prolific quarterbacks ever, David Macchi owns nearly all of the Crusader passing records.  Valpo’s career passing leader with 7,089 yards in just two seasons, Macchi led the Crusaders to the 2003 Pioneer Football League championship.

An Honorable Mention All-PFL pick that same season, he threw 59 career touchdown passes for the Brown and Gold and was named a Division I-AA All-American in 2003.  Macchi holds the school’s single season passing marks as well, completing 238 passes for 3,763 yards in 2003.  He also connected on 38 touchdowns that same season.

Macchi went on to play professionally in the National Football League Italy where he led the Bergamo Lions to the 2005 Eurobowl.  Macchi is now a fitness manager for Club One.
