Catrow Named to All Mid-Con First Team; Wagner Earns All-Newcomer Accolades
Thursday, November 2, 2006
D.J. Catrow (Springfield, Ohio/Catholic Central [Ohio State]) was named to the Mid-Continent Conference First Team, the league announced today, while Joel Wagner (Algonquin, Ill./Dundee Crown) was honored as a member of the league's All-Newcomer Team.

Catrow closed out his career in the Brown and Gold as one of the most prolific offensive players in school history. Despite only playing three seasons for Valpo, Catrow ranks among the team's all-time top-10 in both assists (13, third) and points (41, tied eighth). He led the Crusaders this season with six goals and 15 points, and earned all-conference honors for the third straight season, having been named to the league's second team in his sophomore and junior years. Catrow becomes the first Crusader since Scott Daly in 2001 to earn First Team accolades.

Wagner earns All-Newcomer accolades after serving as a solid presence in the midfield for Valpo during his debut campaign. He started all 16 matches he played in the midfield, and fired five shots on the season, including two on goal.
