Kulaga Named Horizon League's Player of the Week

            Valparaiso University’s Agnieszka Kulaga (Tarnow, Poland/I Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace H.S.) has been named the school’s first Horizon League Player of the Week the league office announced on Monday.

            The junior guard scored a career-high 26 points while grabbing a career-best eight rebounds in the Crusaders’ 73-61 victory over North Texas on Saturday afternoon.  Kulaga went 10-for-15 from the floor, including a three-pointer, while connecting on 5-of-7 from the free throw line.  In addition, she tied her career high with five assists and registered two steals.

            For the season, Kulaga leads Valpo in scoring averaging 13.8 points per game.  She is shooting 51.3% from the floor, including 47.4% from long range.  Kulaga also is an 87.5% free throw shooter, and has made 21 of her last 23 attempts from the charity stripe.

            Kulaga and the Crusaders return to action on Wednesday evening as Valpo travels to Notre Dame for a 6 p.m. CST contest.
