Valpo Women's Hoops Ranks 12th in Division I in Team GPA; Ninth Straight Year in Top-25

            Valparaiso University’s women’s basketball program, known for their success both on the court and in the classroom, finished the 2006-2007 school year ranked 12th in the nation in NCAA Division I for team grade point average.  This is the ninth straight season the Crusaders’ team has been ranked in the top-25 on the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Honor Roll.  The Crusaders finished fourth in the country for Division I in team grade point average one year ago in 2005-2006.

            Head coach Keith Freeman’s squad tallied a 3.419 team grade point average last season.

            Prior to the 4th place ranking last year, Valpo had finished 14th (2004-2005), 6th (2003-2004), 9th (2002-2003), 5th (2001-2002), 25th (2000-2001), 11th (1999-2000), and 14th (1998-1999) over the past seven seasons.
