Crusaders Announce 2008 Baseball Schedule

            Valparaiso University head baseball coach Tracy Woodson has announced his 2008 schedule which featured 12 home dates and 18 total home contests at Emory G. Bauer Field.

            The Crusaders open the season on February 23 with a three-game series at Austin Peay.  Valpo then returns to Clarksville, Tenn. the following weekend to face the Governors again along with Illinois State and Indiana.

            Valpo’s spring trip will take the Brown and Gold to North Carolina State and Duke, along with a four-game series at West Virginia.

            The Crusaders open Horizon League play for the first time on March 21 with a weekend set at Wright State, the defending Horizon League tournament champion. 

            The home campaign begins on March 28 as the Crusaders entertain Cleveland State in a three-game weekend set.  Valpo will also host Northwestern, Northern Illinois, Chicago State, and IPFW as part of non-conference action at Emory G. Bauer Field in addition to league foes UIC, Butler and Youngstown State.

            Valpo also has non-conference dates at Notre Dame, Iowa and Central Michigan on the 2008 slate.

            The season wraps up at UIC on May 17 before the Brown and Gold head to the Horizon League Tournament May 20-24 in Youngstown, Ohio.
