Kondratko and Thomas Earns Academic All-District Honors
Jackie Kondratko is a First Team Academic All-District V selection.

Valparaiso University’s Jackie Kondratko (Granger, Ind./Penn H.S.) has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V First Team and Jackie Thomas (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley Northwest H.S.) has been named to the All-District Second Team as voted upon by CoSIDA.

Kondratko, a junior forward, was tied for the Crusaders team lead with three goals this season, including two match-winners.   Kondratko is a mechanical engineering major and carries a 3.92 cumulative grade point average. She finished the year with seven points and 33 shot attempts, with 60.6% of them being on goal.

Thomas, a senior defender, was a First Team All-Horizon League selection after sharing the team lead with Kondratko with three goals.  A Third Team Academic All-American last year, she anchored a Valpo back line that posted 10 shutouts and surrendered a school record-low 14 goals on the season.  She carries a 3.87 cumulative grade point average as a public relations and sports management major.

To be eligible for Academic All-District and Academic All-America, student-athletes must hold at least sophomore status, own a minimum grade-point average of 3.20, and be either a starter or key reserve.  District V consists of schools in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ontario, and Manitoba.
