Valparaiso redshirt sophomore guard Brandon Wood (Kokomo, Ind./Kokomo [Highland C.C./Southern Illinois]) represented the Crusaders on the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 12 Second Team, as released today by the NABC.

Wood earns the Second Team honor from the NABC after being named the Horizon League Newcomer of the Year for his efforts for the Crusaders this past season.  Also an All-League Second Team and All-Newcomer Team honoree, Wood led the Horizon League in scoring at 17.7 points per game and scored a total of 565 points during the 2009-10 campaign, tied for ninth-most in a single season in Crusader history.  He also ranked among the league’s best in free throw percentage (.813, 7th) and 3-pointers per game (1.8, 6th).

Wood and all the student-athletes selected to All-District squads are now eligible for the State Farm All-American teams, to be revealed in Indianapolis during the Final Four weekend.
