Valparaiso University will play eight of its 18 regular season matches at home during the 2010 women’s soccer campaign as head coach John Marovich has announced his upcoming fall schedule.

Six of the home contests, including all four Horizon League tilts, will be played at Eastgate Field while two of the three non-conference matches will be held at Brown Field.

The Crusaders will begin the season on the road in Kansas City, Mo. on August 21 as Valpo takes on UMKC.  The home opener will take place six days later against Eastern Illinois at Brown Field before Valpo heads to Evansville and IPFW.

A three-match homestand, including visits from Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, and IUPUI begins on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend before the Brown and Gold take to the road for seven of its next eight matches.

Three straight non-conference contests at Vanderbilt, Austin Peay, and Indiana State lead into Horizon League play for the Crusaders, as Valpo opens the conference schedule on September 26 at Detroit.

Following a home match against Loyola (Chicago), Valpo retakes to the road for the final time during the regular season with stops at Butler, Milwaukee, and Green Bay.  The Crusaders then wrap up the season at home for three straight league contests, hosting Wright State, Cleveland State, and finally Youngstown State on October 24 for Senior Day.

This year’s Horizon League Tournament is slated for October 31 as well as November 5 and 7.

Valpo will also play a pair of exhibition games, one at Illinois State on August 10 and another at Eastgate Field against Oakland on August 15 to kickoff the season.
