Valpo Wraps Up 36 Holes at BSU Cardinal Collegiate

Valparaiso finished up 36 holes of the 54-hole Ball State Cardinal Collegiate on Saturday afternoon in 14th place with a two-round total of 635 at Sultan’s Run Golf Club in Jasper, Ind.

Detroit, Eastern Kentucky, and Bowling Green all share the lead heading into Sunday’s final round.

Brad Winters (Elgin, Ill./Saint Edward H.S.) leads the way for the Brown and Gold after carding back-to-back 78s for a two round total of 156.  He is tied for 48th overall.   Josh Kalita (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton H.S.) is one shot behind Winters at 149 (79-78), also turning in a pair of consistent rounds.

Adam Gray (Portland, Ind./Jay County H.S.) posted Valpo’s best round of the day, a 76 in the opening round, and is currently third for the Cruasders at 162 (76-86).  Austin Gaugert (Lake Geneva, Wis./Badger H.S.) shot 165 (82-83) and Andy Webb (Bedford, Ind./North Lawrence H.S.) posted a 166 (85-81) to round out the Valpo lineup.

Matt Schneider of Bowling Green holds a one shot lead on the individual leader board, shooting a two-under par 142 (71-71) on the 6,880-yard, par 72 layout.

Sunday’s final round is slated to begin at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
