Valparaiso University’s Blake Edwards (Orange, Calif./Lutheran H.S. of Orange County) has been voted to the Horizon League’s All-Academic Team for the second straight season in swimming and diving.

Edwards turned in Valpo’s top 200 freestyle time of the season in 2009-2010, posting a mark of 1:46.05.  His time was the eighth best in school history.  He also was a member of the school’s record-setting 200 medley relay, swimming the anchor freestyle leg, at the Horizon League Championships.

In the classroom Edwards, a senior, is a classics and history double major with a 3.78 cumulative grade point average.  He has been a member of the Horizon League’s Fall and Spring Academic Honor Rolls each of the last three years since Valpo joined the conference.  As a junior, he spent a semester studying abroad in Europe.
