Valparaiso’s swimming and diving teams will compete in 12 different events over the course of the upcoming season as the 2011-2012 schedule has been announced.

The season opens on October 2 in Fishers, Ind. as the Crusaders swim against Butler, Saint Louis, Evansville, and Wright State.  Two weeks later Valpo will then head to a pair of invitationals, one a relay meet hosted by Notre Dame and another at Purdue.

The Brown and Gold will take a month off before heading to Cleveland State to face the Vikings and Saint Bonaventure before heading to another invitational at Ball State Nov. 18-19.  The December portion of the schedule has Valpo at the Calvin Invitational to begin the month before heading to Green Bay for a dual meet on Dec. 10.

Returning from winter break, Valpo will head to UIC for a meet with the Flames and Illinois State on Jan. 20 before heading back to Fishers, Ind. to face Butler, Xavier, Hillsdale, Ball State, and Youngstown State two days later.

The lone home meet on the slate this season comes Jan. 28 as the Brown and Gold entertains Monmouth (Ill.) and Butler.  The Crusaders then head to Monmouth one week later for a meet with the Fighting Scots, Western Illinois, and Augustana

This season the Horizon League Championships are scheduled for Milwaukee, Wis. on Feb. 22-25 to wrap up the season.
