Valparaiso senior Ryan Broekhoff (Frankston, Victoria, Australia/Australian Institute of Sport) was one of 25 players named to the Lou Henson All-America Team, as announced by CollegeInsider.com on Monday. The team honors the nation's best mid-major players.

Broekhoff was the recipient of the Lou Henson Award midseason honor and is eligible for the postseason Lou Henson Award, presented annually to the top Mid-Major player in Division I college basketball. The award is named in honor of Lou Henson who retired after a spectacular coaching career that lasted 41 years. The 2013 Award will be presented at the CollegeInsider.com awards banquet in Atlanta, site of the men's NCAA Basketball Championship.

Broekhoff earned his spot on the Lou Henson All-America Team, the only Horizon League representative on the squad, after averaging 15.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while helping lead the Crusaders to a school-record 26 victories and a spot in the 2013 NCAA Tournament. The senior finished his Valpo career sixth in program history in scoring, tied for second in rebounding and among the Crusaders' all-time top-10 in five other categories.
