Joe Harris has a three-shot lead after two rounds of the Bradley Invitational

Sophomore Joe Harris (Washington, Iowa/Washington) has the individual after two rounds at the Bradley Invitational, while senior Austin Gaugert (Lake Geneva, Wis./Badger) and sophomore Eric Winters (Elgin, Ill./Saint Edward) are tied for second as the Valparaiso men’s golf team has squads in first and third after play on Saturday.

Valparaiso has a two-round total of 603, which is six shots better than second-place Loyola. The Valparaiso Gold team posted a total of 611. Five Crusaders are in the top-10 individually in the tournament played at WeaverRidge GC in Peoria, Ill.

Harris followed up an opening round of 75 with an even-par 72 in the second round. His 72, was the only score that was not above par in the second round. His two-round total of 147 has him three shots in front of Gaugert, Winters and Bradley’s Seth Trolia.

Gaugert was the only player to break par in the opening round. His one-under round of 71 was the lowest round of the first day of play. He followed that up with a score of 79.

Winters opened with a one-over 73 and posted a 77 in the second round.

Junior Thomas Wettstein (Neenah, Wis./Xavier) is in a tie for sixth place after rounds of 75 and 77.

Senior Andy Webb (Bedford, Ind./Lawrence North) posted a score of 73 in the second round, which was the second-best round of the afternoon by any player. He is tied for 10th, six shots behind Harris.

Play concludes on Sunday with the final round from WeaverRidge GC.
