Webb, Mahoney Named to All-Tournament Team

After an NCAA Tournament that saw the Crusaders eliminate the Florida Gators, two players were voted to the All-Tournament Team Sunday.

Cole Webb threw seven strong innings against the 13th-ranked Indiana Hoosiers in the opening game Friday. The junior allowed one run on five hits versus the Big Ten Champions. He left the game with a 2-1 lead before the Hoosiers came back with four runs in the ninth to win 5-4.

Spencer Mahoney hit his first career home run in Valpo's 5-4 win over the Gators. For the weekend, the sophomore shortstop went 5-for-12 with four runs, a run batted in, and a walk. A 2012 Honorable Mention All-American, Mahoney finished the 2013 campaign with a .271 batting average, a .381 on-base percentage and was 7-7 on steal attempts.
