Events Surround Homecoming Football Game on Saturday

As part of the Homecoming festivities this weekend, a number of events will take place in and around the Valparaiso homecoming football game against Campbell, slated for a 1 p.m. kickoff.

Prior to the game, the recipients of the 2013 Valparaiso University Alumni Association Awards will be recognized on the field. Also, VUAA president Michael VanBeek, a 1982 Valparaiso University graduate, will be conducting the pregame coin toss.

As this year's Crusaders run out onto the field through the tunnel prior to the game, they will be greeted by members of the 2003 Valparaiso football team. The 2003 Crusaders are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their Pioneer Football League championship squad, which defeated Morehead State, 54-42, in the PFL title game at Brown Field.

Then, at halftime of the football game, this year's Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned by President Mark Heckler. Joining President Heckler and the top-three vote recipients for King and Queen will be a number of former Valparaiso University Homecoming Kings and Queens.

A reminder to fans as well, that if you can't make it back to Valparaiso for Homecoming, you can still watch the game live and for free on ValpoAthletics.com. Live audio of the game as well will be available.
