Valparaiso University's Michael Arensdorff (Eldridge, Iowa/North Scott H.S.) has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V First Team as selected by members of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Arensdorff, an elementary education major with a 3.47 grade point average, is second in the Mid-Continent Conference hitting .354 this season. The Mid-Continent Conference's and Valparaiso's all-time hits leader, the fifth-year senior also leads the league with 15 doubles on the year.

The Crusader outfielder has started all 44 games for the Brown and Gold this season. He hit safely in 21 of the first 22 games of the year, and has posted 19 multi-hit contests. Arensdorff's 149 runs scored are nine shy of Valpo's school record for a career.

Having been selected to the All-District Team, Arensdorff is now eligible for Academic All-America honors. To be eligible for Academic All-District and Academic All-America, student-athletes must hold at least sophomore status, own a minimum grade-point average of 3.20, and be either a starter or key reserve. District V consists of schools in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ontario, and Manitoba.
