Crusaders to Face Miami (Ohio) in BracketBusters Game; Game Will Be One of 14 Broadcast on the ESPN Family of Networks
Monday, February 4, 2008

The Valparaiso University men’s basketball team will host Miami (Ohio) as part of the sixth annual O’Reilly ESPNU BracketBusters event at the Athletics-Recreation Center on Saturday, February 23.  The game is one of 14 contests that will be televised on the ESPN family of networks, with the game time and network to be determined next Monday, February 11.

The Crusaders are currently 14-7 overall and own a 5-4 record in Horizon League play, while Miami sits at 10-10 on the season and 4-4 in Mid-American Conference action.  It will mark the first time the two squads have ever met on the hardwood.  Valpo is 2-0 against Mid-American foes on the season, having defeated Ball State and Western Michigan earlier this season, while Miami is 0-1 versus Horizon League opponents this year.

The game will become the second game from the ARC to be televised on an ESPN network this season.  The first such game is tomorrow night, when the Crusaders host nationally-ranked Butler on ESPN2, with tipoff scheduled for 8 p.m. CST.  Tickets are still available by stopping by the Valparaiso University Ticket Office, located inside the main entrance of the ARC, calling 1-877-MY-VU-TIX or going online to www.valpo.edu/athletics.
