Valparaiso senior setter Kim Bukowski (Waukesha, Wis./West) has been named this week’s recipient of ‘The People’s Choice’ honor on the Horizon League Network.  Bukowski is currently spotlighted in the featured video on the HLN website via phone interview.

Bukowski was eligible for voting in ‘The People’s Choice’ polling after being selected as the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.  The senior averaged 12.67 assists/set last week as the Crusaders swept both UIC and Loyola in a pair of critical league matches.  She also received Top Performer recognition from the CVU for her performance last week as well.

Bukowski, who beat out Milwaukee’s Lauren Felsing (volleyball) and Detroit’s Nate Robinson (men’s soccer) for this week’s honor, is the fourth Crusader athlete to earn recognition as ‘The People’s Choice’.  She joins fellow volleyball players Angie Porché and Taylor Root, as well as men’s soccer player Roby Del Giudice.

‘The People’s Choice’ is a weekly segment on HLN that allows fans to choose which athlete they believed had the most outstanding week among the Horizon League’s Athletes of the Week.  Voting is open from Monday around noon through Tuesday afternoon each week, with an interview with the winner posted on HLN Thursday afternoon.  In her video this week, Bukowski looks back at last week’s victories, looks ahead to a big pair of matches this weekend, talks about the support from the fans at Valpo and even takes time to discuss how the Crusaders were able to have a bit of fun on Tuesday.
