Women's Tennis Falls at Wright State to Close Season

Valparaiso’s women’s tennis team wrapped up the 2010-2011 season on Sunday morning, falling 7-0 to Wright State at the South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg, Ohio.

Wright State (12-9, 5-3 Horizon) jumped on top sweeping all three doubles points.  Masha Peresetsky and Kenisha Webb posted an 8-0 win over Jackie O’Reilly (Green Bay, Wis./DePere H.S.) and Stephanie York (Elkhart, Ind./Jimtown H.S.).  At the second spot, Taylor Hines and Kayla Tuscany were 8-1 winners over Kristin Zakiewicz (Bristol, Ind./Northridge H.S.) and Katie Bilyeu (Terre Haute, Ind./South Vigo H.S.) while Marci Sodini and Lizzy Clark downed Brittany O’Reilly (Green Bay, Wis./Southwest H.S.) and Aubree Zdanovec (Appleton ,Wis./East H.S.) 8-3 at third doubles.

Valpo’s (0-19, 0-8) lone senior, Jackie O’Reilly, played number one singles and dropped her match to Tuscany 6-0, 6-0 while her sister Brittany fell 6-1, 6-1 to Webb at the second spot.  Amy Nini posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Bilyeu at three while Hines defeated Zdanovec by the same score at fourth singles.  Chelseas Girgash defeated Zakiewicz 6-2, 6-2 at fifth singles while Liz Steingass added a 6-0, 6-2 win over York to round out the lineup.
