Crusaders Place 85 Student-Athletes on Horizon League's Spring Academic Honor Roll

Valparaiso had 85 student-athletes honored as the Horizon League has announced its 2011 Spring Academic Honor Roll. The league's 10 institutions combined for 731 total honorees across all 19 league-sponsored sports.

Valparaiso University awarded 99 student-athletes with Presidential Academic Honors while also handing out the Laurel Award at the 20th Annual Academic Honors Banquet for Student-Athletes held on Sunday evening in the Harre Union.

Tom Orton Heads to the Hall of Fame on Saturday

A multi-sport athlete while at Valparaiso, Tom Orton was a three-year starter in both baseball and basketball for the Crusaders, and, on Saturday, February 19 he will be inducted into the Valparaiso University Athletics Hall of Fame.

Hall of Fame to Induct Dennis Murray on Saturday

One of the top runners ever at Valparaiso, Dennis Murray held seven school records on the oval during his career with the Crusaders, and, on Saturday, February 19 he will be inducted into the Valparaiso University Athletics Hall of Fame.

Emily King to be Inducted into Hall of Fame Class of 2011

One of the most proficient goal scorers in school history, Emily King led the Valparaiso University soccer program to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 2005, and, on Saturday, February 19 she will be inducted into the Valparaiso University Athletics Hall of Fame.

A talented multi-sport athlete during his collegiate days at Valparaiso, Fred Donath excelled in both football and wrestling for the Brown and Gold, and on Saturday, February 19 he will be inducted into the Valparaiso University Athletics Hall of Fame.

Five Former Crusaders to be Inducted into Valpo's Hall of Fame as Class of 2011 on February 19

Five former student-athletes will be inducted into the Valparaiso University Athletics Hall of Fame on Feb. 19 as members of the Class of 2011. This year's class consists of Fred Donath (1971), Rob Giancola (2004), Emily King (2005), Dennis Murray (1975), and Tom Orton (1960), and will be the 14th since the Hall of Fame began in 1998.

Food Drive for Hilltop to Take Place at Upcoming Hoops Games

Valparaiso University's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be holding a canned food drive for Hilltop Neighborhood House Village Food Pantry at the men's basketball game on Thursday (Nov. 18) against Purdue North Central as well as at the women's basketball home opener on Wednesday, Nov. 24 against Ball State.

Valpo's SAAC to Support Susan G. Komen for the Cure at Upcoming Crusader Events

Valparaiso University's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be raising money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure beginning on October 22 at various Crusader sporting events in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness month.
