Valparaiso (3-3, 0-0 Horizon)
Game #7 - Tuesday, November 26 - 7:05 p.m.
UCF (3-1, 0-0 American)
Athletics-Recreation Center (5,000) - Valparaiso, Ind.

Next Up in Crusader Basketball: Valparaiso looks to continue its undefeated start to the 2013-14 home slate on Tuesday night at the ARC, as the Crusaders host UCF. The game is the first of an same-season home-and-home series against the Knights.

Last Time Out: Valparaiso surrendered just four points to James Madison over the final 12:22 of the first half Saturday afternoon in non-league action at the ARC, turning a six-point deficit into a 13-point halftime lead en route to an 81-49 victory over the Dukes. The Crusaders trailed 18-12 with 12:22 to go in the first half, but out-scored JMU 23-4 from that point to close out the half, and then opened the second half with a 13-2 run. Jordan Coleman led four Crusaders in double figures with 16 points.

Head Coach Bryce Drew: Bryce Drew (51-23) is in his third season at the helm of the Valparaiso men’s basketball program in 2013-14. Over his first two-plus seasons, Drew has led the Crusaders to 51 victories, including a school-record 26 last season, as well as two Horizon League regular season titles and one tournament championship. The 2012 HL Coach of the Year, Drew ascended to the head coaching position on May 17, 2011 after spending six seasons as an assistant and associate head coach with the Crusaders.

Series Notes: Valparaiso and UCF have met on three occasions on the hardwood, with the Crusaders holding a 2-1 edge. Most recently, the two teams played a same-season home-and-home series in 2008-09, with both schools winning on their home court (Valpo 69-52, UCF 85-60). UCF eventually vacated that win as part of multiple seasons worth of wins it vacated due to NCAA violations, but that does not affect the result as it pertains to Valpo’s series record.
