Crusader Men, Women in 4th after First Day at Calvin College Invitational

Four races have been completed at the Calvin College Invitational in Grand Rapids, Michigan and the Crusaders find themselves in 4th place in both the men's and women's competition.

The women's 800-yard freestyle relay garnered the Brown and Gold a fifth-place finish from the team of Flavia Segatto (Pembroke Pines, Fla./Charleow Flanigan), Ali Taubert (Bloomington, Ill./University), Makenna Cannon (Delafield, Wis./Kettle Moraine), and Andrea Bretl (Wauwatosa, Wis./West). 

Freshman Brian Wasicak (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) hit the wall at 16:32.08 in the men's 1650-yard freestyle. The sixth-place time resulted in 13 points for Valpo.

Segatto recorded the best finish of any Crusader Friday with a second-place time in the 1650-yard freestyle. The junior stopped the clock at 17:35.72, just behind Northern Michigan's Tara Dowling.

The meet continues Friday in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
