Skara Signs National Letter of Intent With Valpo Basketball
Bryce Drew announced the signing of David Skara.

Valparaiso men’s basketball head coach Bryce Drew announced today that the Crusaders have received a national letter of intent from David Skara, a native of Zadar, Croatia who will join the program as a freshman for the 2014-15 season.

“David is a great addition to our program,” said Drew.  “Being in America this last year has really helped David improve and prepared him to be ready to compete at the collegiate level.  He has a very good offensive skill set, which should fit in nicely with our team.”

Skara, a 6’8” forward, played last season at Midwest Elite Prep Academy in Merrillville.  He averaged 16 points and eight rebounds per game for the Warriors.  Skara represented his native Croatia at the 2012 FIBA U17 World Championship, appearing in four games and going for 10 points and five rebounds in a win over South Korea.

Skara is the third member of the incoming freshman class for next year’s Valparaiso squad, joining Montreal prep teammates Max Joseph and Tevonn Walker.
