Valpo Athletics Welcomes Tianna Hill as Compliance Coordinator

Executive Associate Athletic Director Sarah Pruess and Director of Athletics Mark LaBarbera have announced the addition of Compliance Coordinator Tianna Hill to the Valparaiso University athletics staff.

Hill joins Valpo Athletics after serving as the Assistant Director of Compliance/Initial Eligibility at Houston Baptist University since December 2019. She oversaw initial eligibility status of prospective student-athletes for 14 teams during her time at Houston Baptist in addition to developing policies and procedures for NCAA rules compliance and hosting monthly education sessions for the entire athletic department.

“I am very excited to add Tianna to our staff,” Pruess said. “She will continue to build upon the momentum brought by the hires the last few years in the compliance and academic services areas. She brings a great attitude and network with her to Valpo Athletics.”

Prior to her time at Houston Baptist, Hill served as a compliance assistant at Rice University. There she assisted with continued development of policies and procedures for NCAA rules compliance and with all financial aid agreements and the National Letter of Intent program. She also monitored complimentary admissions for sporting events and assisted with ticket distribution at home basketball, football and baseball games. Her stint as compliance assistant (August 2019 – November 2019) came after serving as a compliance intern at Rice for the previous seven months.

Hill’s multifaceted athletics background also includes time as a graduate assistant for women’s basketball at Birmingham Southern College from April 2018 to January 2019. In addition, she spent time as a marketing intern at the University of Alabama and an intern with the Stillman College Athletics Department.

A May 2017 graduate of the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Ala. with a degree in health promotion, Hill went on to receive her master’s in human environmental science from the University of Alabama in December 2018. She is a member of the National Association for Athletics Compliance and Women Leaders in College Sports.
