Rin Seibert has been the heart and soul of recreational sports on the Valparaiso University campus for over 30 years. She was hired to lead the recreational sports department at Valpo in August 1980.

Seibert has won numerous awards and honors, a product of her dedication to her craft and passion for her position. She received the NISA Regional Award of Merit for Outstanding Contributions to Region III in 2016, the Panhellenic Council Excellence in Teaching Award in 2015 and was honored with the Valparaiso University Outstanding Service Award for 30 years of service in 2010. She has also served as a member of Valpo’s faculty, instructing undergraduate courses in the Department of Kinesiology.

In August 2017, Seibert was elevated to Director of Recreational Sports/Associate Director of Athletics after previously serving as the Director of Recreational Sports/Assistant Director of Athletics.

Seibert graduated from Valpo in 1976 with a degree in physical education. She later earned her master’s in recreation from Indiana University in 1979.
