Carlye Ellis comes to Valparaiso from Austin, Texas where she was a member of the University of Texas swimming program from 2007-2011 and earned a B.S. in Communication Studies. During her time at Texas, Ellis was a two-time Big 12 Champion, two-time Honorable Mention All-American and held previous school records in the 200- and 400-medley relays. 

Just prior to joining the Crusaders, Ellis coached at Nitro Swimming in Austin. At Nitro she was an assistant coach for the National, Sectional, and TAGS groups where she worked with nationally ranked swimmers who competed at the Olympic Trials, World Junior Championships, Senior and Junior National championships. 

Ellis grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan and swam competitively for nine years earning many nationally ranked times, honors and recognitions.
