Eron Hodges is in his first season as a member of the Valparaiso football coaching staff in 2012.  He will be responsible for working directly with the Crusader inside linebackers.

Most recently prior to arriving at Valpo, Hodges was serving as a strength and conditioning intern at Notre Dame, working with a number of the Fighting Irish sports.  Previously, Hodges spent two seasons as a student assistant coach for the Illinois State football program.  With the Redbirds, Hodges worked directly with the secondary and was also responsible for coordinating the offensive scout team.  He also spent one year at Illinois State working as a strength and conditioning/exercise physiology laboratory intern.

Hodges served four years in the United States Navy, reaching the rank of Petty Officer Third Class (E-4).  Following his stint in the Navy, he enrolled at the College of DuPage, where he played football and ran track, ranking among the top-15 sprinters in the nation on the track and helping the Chaparrals to two top-three finishes nationally.  Hodges received his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Illinois State University in May of 2012.
