Valpo's Arensdorff Named May/June Mid-Con Men's Athlete of the Month

Valpo baseball player Mike Arensdorff was named the Mid-Continent Conference Men's Athlete of the Month for May and June.

A sophomore first baseman/outfielder from Eldridge, Iowa/North Scott, Arensdorff posted a .433 batting average with 17 RBIs, 29 hits, 14 runs scored and eight doubles in 18 games. He collected a hit in 14 of the 18 games in the final month of the season and notched nine multi-hit outings. Arensdorff's best performance was a five-hit, three-RBI game against Oakland on May 8. He also had three hits to complement four RBIs against Butler on May 17.

Arensdorff, who won the Mid-Con batting title with a .382 average and tied for the league-lead in doubles (20), capped off the month(s) by earning First Team All-Mid-Con accolades. He finished the season leading the Crusaders in batting, RBIs (43) and home runs (4).
