Arensdorff, Yergin Lead Valpo To Win Over Indiana Tech

Fort Wayne, Ind. - Mike Arensdorff hit two home runs and drove in four runs, and Harvey Yergin hurled 6 solid innings as Valpo defeated Indiana Tech 11-4.

Valpo (2-10) trailed 4-2 before scoring four times in the fifth inning. The Crusaders added one in the sixth and two each in the seventh and eighth. Eddie Hannan belted a home run and a double, and finished with two RBIs. Kevin Kutansky (triple) added two hits and an RBI. Keith Keslinke produced another RBI for the Crusaders.

Yergin, a freshman, allowed two earned runs and six hits, while striking out eight and walking three. Chris Riley (2 innings) and Nick Rotunno (1 inning) followed Yergin.

The Crusaders finished with 11 hits and one error, while the Warriors had seven hits and one error.

Valpo hosts Xavier on Wednesday at 2 p.m. CST.
