Valparaiso University's Matt Augustine has been selected to the 2005 CoSida ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V Baseball Team by the district's sports information directors.

Augustine, a sophomore chemistry major from Muskego, Wis./HS, has earned a 3.74 cumulative grade point average. Awarded the honor as a designated hitter, Augustine is batting .252 with one home run, seven doubles and 19 RBIs.

Augustine is a two-time recipient of Valparaiso University's Presidential Honors, recognizing student-athletes who earn a 3.25-or-higher cumulative grade point average after at least three semesters at VU.

District V is comprised of Division I schools from Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Ontario and Manitoba.

Augustine's name will now appear on the ballot for Academic All-America.
