After two years pitching for Valparaiso University, Alex Berry joins the Crusader coaching staff in 2010 as a student assistant.

He appeared in 27 games, throwing 126.1 innings, over two years with the Crusaders, striking out 80 while recording four victories.  He fanned 54 while winning three games as a senior.

For his work in the classroom, Berry was named to the Horizon League’s Academic Honor Roll as a senior in both the fall and spring semesters.

Berry arrived at Valpo from Olney Central College where he pitched two seasons and was a NJCAA Distinguished Academic All-American.

Berry earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Valparaiso in 2009 and will complete his Master of Business Administration in August, 2010.
