Valpo Football Adds Four Transfers

Valparaiso University head football coach Tom Horne announced the addition of four transfers to the Crusaders' team. Joining Valpo are tailback Nick Reid from Arizona Western JC in Yuma, Ariz.; defensive back Elliot Powell from Fullerton (Cal.) JC; defensive end Tony Hart from Valparaiso HS and Saginaw Valley State; and offensive lineman Josh Silko from Hope College. All four enrolled at Valpo in January.

Reid, a 6'1", 240-pound junior, has been timed at 4.5 seconds in the 40-yard dash and ran the high hurdles in 14.8 seconds, according to Horne.

Powell, a 6'1", 190-pound sophomore, has run the 100-meters in 10.5 seconds.

Hart, a 6'3", 250-pound junior, played two years at Saginaw Valley. Silko, a 6'2", 265-pound junior, also played two seasons for Hope.

Powell has three seasons of eligibility remaining, while Reid, Hart and Silko have two years of eligibility.
