THE COACHES: Valparaiso is guided by Tom Horne, who is 66-101-1 in his 16th season at Valpo. Aurora is led by Jim Scott, who is 102-68-3 in his 18th season at Aurora.

SERIES RECORD: Valpo leads 9-2
LAST MEETING: 2003 - Valpo won 44-26 in Aurora, Illinois.

LAST WEEK: Valpo defeated Butler 31-26, while Aurora defeated McMurray 42-10.

On Saturday, Valpo will entertain Aurora at 12:30 p.m. in the season finale. Crusader players, coaches and fans will say goodbye to 17 seniors who will be playing their final collegiate game.

Valpo (4-6) defeated Butler last Saturday 31-26, while Aurora (6-3) clinched the Illini-Badger Conference title with a 42-10 victory over McMurray. The Spartans (6-1 in the IBC) now advance to the NCAA Division III playoffs next week.

SENIOR FAREWELL:
The following 17 seniors have provided Valpo football fans with many great memories, including the 2003 Pioneer Football League Championship:

Patrick Cash, WR, Chicago, Ill. - Cash has excelled on special teams and has proven to be an outstanding blocking receiver.

Ross Connor, DE, Los Altos, Calif. - Connor has been part of the rotation on the defensive line for four straight seasons.

Chris Daniels, CB, Peoria, Ill. - Daniels earned I-AA Mid-Major All-America honors as a junior, finishing second in the PFL in interceptions. He is also a two-time Academic All-PFL selection and recently was named to the Academic All-District V Team.

Rob Giancola, WR, Whiting, Ind. - Giancola holds 10 school records and, with 230 career points, needs one touchdown to become Valpo's all-time leading scorer. A Second Team All-America for all NCAA I-AA schools in 2003, Giancola led all levels of college football with 23 touchdown receptions a year ago. The I-AA Mid-Major 2003 Receiver of the Year leaves Valpo as the school's all-time leader in receiving yards currently with 3,685.

Kenny Keil, TE, Roselle, Ill. - Keil has started at tight end the last two seasons, catching seven touchdown passes.

Kevin Knutson, WR, River Falls, Wis. - Knutson has led the Crusaders in receptions the last two seasons. He currently stands 4th on Valpo's all-time receiving yards list with 2,275. A two-time Academic All-PFL selection and 2003 I-AA Academic All-Star, Knutson was recently named to the Academic All-District V Team.

Casey Losiniecki, OT, Michigan City, Ind. - Losiniecki has been a four-year starter at left tackle and helped pave the way for the PFL-leading offense in 2003. He earned Second Team All-PFL honors last season.

Matt Markowski, DB, Appleton, Wis. - Markowski has been a major contributor on special teams throughout his career, particularly on coverage and return units.

Bill Marshall, DE, Warwick, N.Y. - A three-year starter, Marshall was a Second Team All-PFL selection last season after ranking 3rd in the PFL with 13 tackles for losses and five sacks.

Joe Milazzo, QB, Delafield, Wis. - Milazzo started the first five games at quarterback and leads Valpo in passing yards this season.

Alex Morrison, RB, Indianapolis, Ind. - Morrison has been a contributor for four years and provided solid depth at running back.

Michael Mroz, CB, Westfield, N.J. - Mroz has been a starter at cornerback and ranks 5th on the team in tackles. In 2003, he was named PFL Defensive Player of the Week after making two interceptions in a win over Dayton.

Kyle Padgett, OT, Indianapolis, Ind. - Padgett has been a starter on the offensive line for four straight seasons and helped pave the way for the PFL-leading offense in 2003.

Nick Reid, RB, Orlando, Fla. - Reid led the Crusaders in rushing in 2003 with 700 yards and six touchdowns, including three games with 120-plus yards.

Tom Schmidt, TE, Hales Corners, Wis. - Schmidt and Kenny Keil have been a formidable tight end tandem over the last two years. In 2003, Schmidt caught three touchdown passes, including one in the 2003 PFL Championship Game victory.

Ted Soller, OG, Michigan City, Ind. - Soller has started the last two years at right guard and helped pave the way for the PFL-leading offense in 2003.

Matt Van Daele, RB, Wildwood, Ill. - A two-year starter at fullback, Van Daele has been one of the team's most versatile players over his career. In 2003, he finished 2nd on the squad in rushing and scored four touchdowns.

GIANCOLA NEEDS FIVE POINTS TO BECOME VALPO'S ALL-TIME LEADING SCORER: With one touchdown, Rob Giancola will become Valpo's all-time leading scorer. With 230 career points, Giancola needs 5 to eclipse the 53-year-old record of 234 held by Joe Pahr (1949-51).
