Valparaiso University's Mike Krieg (Romeo, Mich./Romeo H.S.) has been named the Pioneer Football League's Special Teams Player of the Week after a perfect performance in his collegiate debut on Saturday at Wisconsin Lutheran.

The redshirt freshman was a perfect 7-of-7 on extra point attempts while also converting on a 25-yard field goal in the Crusaders' 54-0 season opening victory. Krieg's ten points were seventh most among all NCAA 1-AA kickers in week one.

Krieg also had nine kickoffs on the day, including one touchback. The Warriors averaged starting at just the 25-yard line after the kicks.
