Valparaiso University head football coach Stacy Adams has announced that Robert Lee has joined the Crusader coaching staff as a defensive assistant and special teams coordinator.

Lee arrives at Valpo after serving as the defensive line coach at Eastern Michigan University from 2004-2008.  With the Eagles, he also served as the community service coordinator.

He also spent 11 years at Butler University, including the last four as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach.  He also was the special teams coordinator for three years during his stay with the Bulldogs.

Lee also spent three years as an assistant coach at Centennial High School in Corona, Calif., upon his graduation from Purdue University in 1990 with a degree in supervision.  He went on to earn his master’s in management from National University.

Lee takes over the special teams coordinator role that was held by Chip Taylor.  Taylor will join Josh Wissing as co-offensive coordinators for the upcoming season.
