Valparaiso University’s Eric Hoffman (Manitowoc, Wis./Lincoln H.S.) has been named the Pioneer Football League’s Co-Offensive Player of the Week after throwing for four touchdowns, including the game winner, last Saturday in the Crusaders’ 34-31 victory over Campbell.

Hoffman completed 30-of-40 passes for 314 yards and the career-high four scores as the Brown and Gold snapped a 29-game losing skid.  He was 7-of-8 in the fourth quarter for 81 yards and two scores, the last of which proved to be the game winner with 3:09 to play.

Hoffman’s touchdown tosses were 14, three, 14, and nine yards, and each one either gave Valpo the lead or extended the Crusader advantage.

On the season Hoffman has completed 60.1% (191-of-318) passes for 1,938 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Hoffman shared this week’s honor with quarterbacks Mike Piatkowski of Drake and Josh McGregor of Jacksonville.

Valparaiso (1-9, 1-6 PFL) will close the regular season on Saturday afternoon against the Wildcats of Davidson.  Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. CST in Davidson, N.C.
