Valpo Football Takes Field Trip to Central Elementary School
Members of the Crusader football team spend time with students at Central Elementary School.

Members of the Valparaiso football team took some time on Thursday, April 25 to visit Central Elementary School in Valparaiso, spending recess and lunch with students in grades K-5.

After playing football, soccer, basketball, tag and four square with the children during recess, the Crusaders went inside for lunch and delivered a strong message of sportsmanship, talking about fair play both on and off the field.  Valpo football players will also be making an appearance at the school’s final assembly on May 10, where a few players will make speeches about how important the community of Valparaiso is to the University, why character counts and how to have a safe and fun summer.

The Valparaiso football program and Central Elementary School are looking into a partnership for next fall so that they can make this experience a regular event for the community and school.
