As part of Valparaiso University’s “Proud to Be Valpo” Day of Giving last week, the athletics department held the first-ever Athletics Alumni Challenge, and the response was tremendous, as 325 former Valpo student-athletes donated upwards of $41,000 to the athletics department. The football and men’s tennis programs each won a $5,000 challenge grant, boasting the greatest number of alumni to make a gift and the highest percentage of alumni to make a gift, respectively.

Valpo head coach Tom Horne, who will direct the camp, will be joined as instructors by several members of the Valpo coaching staff. The camp, for ages 6-14, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. The cost of the basic camp starts at $149 per person. Fees may vary upon registration.

The Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars award honors to minority student-athletes by sport. Daniels was previously selected to the All-Academic Pioneer Football League Second Team.
