Valparaiso University's Ryan Koepke (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead H.S.) has been named to the ninth annual Football Championship Subdivision (formerly Division I-AA) Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star Team.

The redshirt-sophomore was one of 54 winners selected for the prestigious award and one of just two players from the Pioneer Football League (Wes Doyle, San Diego) to receive the honor.

Koepke has a 3.68 grade point average and led the Crusaders in tackles with 67 on the season. In addition, he had five tackles for loss, including a quarterback sack, and forced a fumble.

To be eligible for the honor, nominees were required to have a minimum grade point average of 3.20, have been a starter or key reserve with legitimate athletic credentials. In addition, they must be of at least sophomore standing in both academics and athletics and completed a minimum of one full academic year at the nominate institution.
