Andy Viano will join long-time play-by-play broadcaster Todd Ickow as the color commentator for both ValparaisoUniversity football and men’s basketball broadcasts this season on the Valpo Sports Radio Network, Valparaiso University Director of Athletics, Mark LaBarbera has announced.

Viano, the director of media relations and broadcasting for the Gary SouthShore RailCats, is a 2005 graduate of Valparaiso University, and hosted the Indiana Association of Student Broadcasters' "Sportscast of the Year" during a Crusader men's basketball broadcast in addition to serving as the general manager for WVUR, the student radio station.

Ickow will begin his 19th season as the Crusader play-by-play man.

This year, the Valpo Sports Radio Network can be heard on WAKE (1500-AM, Valparaiso) and WE-FM (95.9-FM, Michigan City), in addition to live streaming through www.valpoathletics.com.

This year the Valpo Sports Radio Network will kickoff coverage on Saturday afternoon, September 5 as the Crusader football team travels to Rensselaer, Ind. to battle Saint Joseph’s (Ind.).  Game time is set for noon.
