Valpo's Soller Earns Academic All-District V Honors

Valparaiso University defensive back Alex Soller (Michigan City, Ind./Michigan City H.S.) has been named to the ESPN Academic All-District V football team.

Soller is among the Crusader leaders defensively, ranking fifth on the team with 48 total tackles, including 30 solo stops.  The senior has six tackles for loss are second most on the team, and include 2.5 quarterback sacks.  Soller also has broken up a pass this season.

An exercise science major, Soller has a 3.39 cumulative grade point average.  He has twice been named to the Pioneer Football League Fall Academic Honor Roll during his career.

Having earned Academic All-District honors, Soller is now eligible for Academic All-America accolades, which will be released later in November.

To be eligible for Academic All-District and Academic All-America, student-athletes must hold at least sophomore status, own a minimum grade-point average of 3.30, and be either a starter or key reserve.  District V consists of schools in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ontario, and Manitoba.
