The Pioneer Football League announced its Academic Honor Roll Friday afternoon and Valparaiso claimed 47 players on the annual academic acclaim. The PFL as a whole boasted 616 student-athletes to its 2015 Honor Roll, a new record.

The PFL athletic directors and coaches established the honor roll as a way to recognize the league’s outstanding student-athletes. The academic honor roll consists of student-athletes who have participated in football at a member institution during the fall semester and posted a 3.0 grade-point average or higher while enrolled in classes full time.

Valparaiso was one of five institutions to see an increase in representatives from last year. Campbell, Davidson, Jacksonville, and San Diego also boosted its totals. Dayton touted the most recipients with 81, one more than Butler.
