The Valparaiso University football team held its annual Spring Game on Saturday at Brown Field. This year’s format divided the game into three contests pitting the offense against the defense. Special teams segments were held between each section of the offense vs. defense scrimmage.

For the first time since the 2016 season came to an end, the Valparaiso University football team will take the field with a game day atmosphere at Brown Field on Saturday. The annual Valpo football Spring Game begins at 11 a.m. The Crusaders will use a modified scoring system again this season with a format that pits the offense against the defense. New this year, the event will be divided into three contests.

Nunes Granted Additional Season of Eligibility


The Valparaiso University football program has announced that the NCAA has granted defensive back J.J. Nunes an additional season of athletic eligibility. Nunes plans to return to the Crusaders for the 2017 season.


Valpo Releases 2017 Football Schedule


The Valparaiso University football team has unveiled its 2017 schedule. The Crusaders will open the season with a trip to Montana on Sept. 2, before welcoming Duquesne for the home opener on Sept. 9.


Valpo Football Unveils First Batch of 2017 Recruits

The Pioneer Football League announced its Academic Honor Roll on Monday afternoon and Valparaiso claimed 41 players on the annual list. The PFL as a whole recognized 576 student-athletes from its 11 member institutions.


Three Crusaders Earn Spots on Academic all-PFL Team

Gessinger Named to all-PFL Second Team, Six Crusaders Notch Honorable Mention


Valparaiso University freshman Bailey Gessinger (Goshen, Ind. / Northwood) finished his rookie football campaign with postseason honors on Tuesday. Gessinger was named to the all Pioneer Football League second-team, based on selections made by the league’s coaches. In addition, six Crusaders earned all-PFL honorable mention.

Crusaders Fend Off Dolphins, Send Seniors Out in Style


The Valparaiso University football team finished a year of improvement with the largest improvement yet on Senior Day at Brown Field on Saturday. The Crusaders sprinted out to a 28-3 lead after one quarter and held on for a 42-39 victory over Jacksonville.
