The Valparaiso University football team has once again reached new heights in the classroom, shattering the program record for Pioneer Football League honor roll members for the second straight season.

After amending the program record with 52 honorees in 2017, the team has made another considerable jump, as the 2018 PFL Honor Roll recognizes 60 Valpo players. Valpo is one of two PFL teams to set program records this season and is one of just four PFL squads with 60 or more academic honorees. The PFL saw more than 500 student-athletes recognized on its honor roll for a sixth consecutive season.

Pioneer Football League athletic directors and coaches established the honor roll in 2001 as a way to recognize the league’s outstanding student-athletes. The academic honor roll consists of student-athletes who participated in football at member institutions during the fall semester and posted a 3.0 grade-point average or higher during the semester while enrolled full-time in accordance with NCAA rules.
