Dority, Williams Pick Up Weekly League Honors
Lexus Williams picked up Freshman of the Week honors for a second time.

Valparaiso senior guard Lavonte Dority (Chicago, Ill./Foreman [USF]) has been tabbed the Horizon League co-Player of the Week by the league office and as Player of the Week by College Sports Madness, while freshman guard Lexus Williams (Chicago, Ill./Marist) has been named Freshman of the Week by the league office as well following their performances in a pair of Crusader victories last week.

Dority earns his first career Player of the Week honor after breaking 20 points in both games last week. The senior started the week by scoring 20 points in the Crusaders' come-from-behind win at Detroit, including an impressive 13-of-16 effort from the foul line. Then, at home on Saturday against Milwaukee, Dority scored 19 of his 27 points, the second-highest scoring output of his career, in the first half to stake the Crusaders to a 10-point halftime lead over the Panthers en route to the win.

For the week, Dority averaged 23.5 ppg on 50% shooting from the floor, including 6-of-14 from beyond the 3-point line. He also continued his stellar shooting from the foul line this year, hitting 17-of-20 free throws between the two games. Dority shared the honor from the league office with Green Bay's Alec Brown.

Williams earns his second Freshman of the Week honor of the season from the league office after a pair of impressive games last week. The Chicago native led the Crusaders in their win over Detroit with 22 points, going 5-of-7 from the field and 10-of-12 from the foul line and scoring 13 of his points in the second half. Williams also chipped in 12 points in the win over Milwaukee, 10 of which came in the final 20 minutes. For the week, Williams averaged 17 points, four rebounds and three assists per game while shooting 50% from the field and beyond the 3-point line and 85% from the charity stripe.

Dority, Williams and the rest of the Crusaders return to action Thursday evening at 6:05 p.m. CT at Youngstown State.
